Airline pilot training seminars PDF Print E-mail

Efficient Sector is a new independent company aiming to help young people interested in becoming airline pilots better understand the airline industry.

Via a series of seminars, Efficient Sector explains the licences and ratings required to gain employment with an airline and the various different training routes available, along with the benefits and pitfalls of each approach.

The company has been set up by Mark Karim an airline pilot and flying instructor based in the Midlands. “I was surprised by the lack of knowledge of the training options available in some of the students I taught in basic flying. They often only knew about one approach and that was normally the most expensive one. I have sat down with people and explained the different routes and the flexibility available in how you obtain a licence and they were often very surprised in the options available. That was where the idea for the business came from. We aim to present all the options, dispel any myths and allow people to make the right choice for them.”

Efficient Sector co-founder Simon Murphy is also a Midlands based airline pilot. “We tell people what flying is really like from First Solo, to taking a heavy Jet airliner trans-Atlantic. We have the knowledge, experience and crucially we are not commercially biased towards any particular flying school. We want to give people the right information in order to make the right choice. People attending our seminars are encouraged to ask questions to clear up any misunderstandings they may have. We welcome all wannabe pilots whether they have no experience at all or are part way through their training. Attendees tend to range in age from early teens to mid-30s career changers.”

The next seminar is at 1pm Saturday 19 September at the East Midlands Airport Thistle Hotel. Visit www.efficientsector.com to book a ticket.
