WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? For those of you interested in becoming a commercial pilot, you know that it can be an expensive business to train. Anywhere between £45-80K and that includes study, exams and then a number of hours of basic flying. Worse still, since 9/11, when the airline business and consequently pilot recruitment slumped, wannabe commercial pilots – rather than the airlines – now have to fork out for the experience of actual flying big passenger aircraft. ’s predictions of a shortfall are way too low.

| Europe fine tunes 8.33kHz above FL195 |

Brussels, Belgium – As of 13 March 2008, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal
and Spain have enforced the mandatory carriage of 8.33kHz radio equipment
above Flight Level (FL)195. This means that all European States are now
aligned with European Commission Regulation 1265/2007 on this issue Full Story
